Since 1997 it has been contributing to the unique atmosphere of Florianska Street. Two rooms in old cellars, recall with a hint of nostalgia the times of the Kaiser Franz Joseph. The atmosphere of the K-U-K Cracow is exhilarated by the sense of humour of the other patron - Good Soldier Szwejk.
The cellar is open everyday from 12am till 12pm.
In the cafe you can sit at the bar or at a table and choose from the great selection of cocktails, wines, beers and coffee - brewed in 10 different manners.In the restaurant you can enjoy tasty and reasonably priced meals including simple and local as well as sophisticated and inventive dishes. In winter, sometimes you can enjoy live music, performed by jazz or folk ensemble.
In summer we serve food and drinks also at the green garden patio.
The name of the place comes from J. Hasek's book "The Good Soldier Svejk", and was discovered by a Cracovian journalist Leszek Mazan, the godfather of Złota Pipa.
The pub would most certainly be loved by Svejk. It is a combination of peaceful restaurant and a lively pub; from sweet melancholy to laughter.
Comfortable booths break the ice, facilitated by chilled vodka. The entertainment speciality of the pub is a game of chess for the ones with determination. It offers the only opportunity to drink from your opponent's pawns.
The tables are laid out as soon as the visitor becomes a bit peckish. The selection is vast: from appetizers (e.g. white sausage with cabbage), lunch menu (broccoli baked in cheese with roasted almond) and main course dishes made from all kinds of meat (e.g. pork ham in forest mushroom cream sauce).
